If you crave sweet and salty as much as I do, then this maple-miso glazed tofu with broccoli and winter squash is the recipe for you! Check out my post on Marcus Samuelsson's site for the recipe! (And for all of my tofu-hating readers out there...this would also be awesome with chicken, pork or salmon.)

What an ingenious creation! Miso is perfect for a throw-together meal... but I never would have thought to add maple, which sounds absolutely divine with the season's veggies!
ReplyDeleteOoh, for some reason the combo of squash, broccoli and miso reminds me of dishes I get at Angelica Kitchen
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that this would be a great combination with some chicken. I'm off to check out the recipe now. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove it! I will definitely check it out.
ReplyDeleteThis looks delicious, and I'll definitely check out the recipe. I just might be one of those readers who try it with chicken or salmon. I'm don't mind tofu but my family does!
ReplyDeleteOk, I really do need to try tofu one of these days, because this looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI've tried to like tofu, but I just can't, hehe. I guess I can make this with chicken :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a tofu-lover! I always eat it with broccoli, so I'm glad to find a new recipe with both!
ReplyDeleteI'm a tofu lover too! Plus I learned the trick of frying it up until golden and crispy (pressing it under a stack of heavy books and letting it drain for 20 minutes).
ReplyDeletei love tofu but you're right i would love to have this with pork. yum!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried winter squash. Is it like summer squash?
ReplyDeleteMaple and miso sounds heavenly together and add in my favorite protein...tofu! I wish I could just live in your kitchen and sample all these incredible meals :)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to comment because I was on another blog and saw your comment re: BoB. I agreed with your sentiment completely and don't think you put your foot in your mouth at all. I think it's sad that we should have to phrase ourselves so delicately just so people won't see hate or contempt where there clearly is none.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your POV.
This is like a big bowl full of autumn! I'm a huge fan of salty and sweet together. I could eat every meal with that combo.
ReplyDeleteIs this your first miso dish, Joanne? I was wondering when you would finally cave to buy it. I love miso, tofu, broccoli and squash, so this looks incredible. Loving it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely combination of ingredients. I love the sweet and salty combo and can imagine just how delicious this is to taste. Have a great day, Joanne. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteDear Joanne, Oh, I don't hate tofu but I think I would use the chicken or pork, then my son and daughter would also dig in. This does sound very good. Blessings to you dear, Catherine xoxo
ReplyDeleteMAple Glazed Tofu! Hello, can you say delicious!!
ReplyDeleteI love broccoli now, although as a chiled i was not a big fan. Hard to think that i didnt like it looking back now. Richard from Amish Stories.
ReplyDeleteLooks good Joanne. I've had tofu only once but I did like it so I really should have some again.
ReplyDeleteOh man! This could not have come at a more perfect time! The hubs is gone for 2 weeks...which means vegetarian dinners for me! YUM!
ReplyDeleteOh this just looks so good!! My kind of dish!!
ReplyDeleteThis suonds perfect! The saltiness of the miso would work so well with the maple. You missy, are a genius!
ReplyDeleteHow do you reckon it would be if served cold or at room temp? This looks right up my alley, but since it's heating up in these parts, I'd love to have it as a refreshing, veggie-filled salad.
ReplyDeleteLooks so good, and I'm totally into the sweet-salty thing too.
Joanne, if anyone could make me try tofu and love it, it would definitely be you. This looks absolutely delicious.
ReplyDeleteOoh, maple-miso with squash, what a nice fall tune-up! Love that you used tofu for this one. Gorgeous recipe.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good I would try it and I am not a fan of tofu.
ReplyDeleteMmm, maple and miso sound perfect together. In fact, I could imagine putting that on most everything as good as it sounds. ;)
ReplyDeleteI could eat a whole bowl of this right now! Just my kind of dinner!
ReplyDeleteOh the sweet and salty has always been alluring to me
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely craving for sweet and salty food. This recipe looks fantastic.
ReplyDeletewhy would anyone not like tofu! love how you combine miso paste with other flavours!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand tofu hate! This looks like a delicious, seasonal bowlful!
ReplyDeleteNix on the tofu! I've only had it once that I came close to liking it...but I'm loving this with chicken.
ReplyDeleteI am all for the tofu but not the broccoli. ;-) It's not that I don't like it--it just doesn't like me. That sauce sounds divine. Hmm... maybe cauliflower? ;-)
ReplyDeleteHoly yumminesss! Pretty sure i could get the broccoli past the hubby, but not the squash.. looks devine - that is going into the to-do pile now!
ReplyDeleteThis meal sounds completely perfect for me!! I love that it has a dark green and an orange veggie, and that maple-miso glaze sounds so goooooood. Totally making this next week.
ReplyDeleteMade this last night and loved it! Simple, healthy and delicious. I love the combination of textures and flavours with the squash and broccoli yum.
