You might think I'm crazy for even so much as suggesting soup as a viable dinner option right now, but this Green Goddess Soup is worth the mere fifteen minutes of eat it takes to make it! And it pairs perfect with this pesto mozzarella grilled cheese sandwich. For the recipe, check out my post on Marcus Samuelsson's blog!
I am also submitting this to Deb over at Kahakai Kitchen for Souper Sundays!

The soup looks so wonderful, it might even get me to love zucchini.
ReplyDeleteoh this looks like SUCH a good combination! off to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so great!! The recipe calls for all sorts of my favorite summer produce. Love.
ReplyDeleteThe soup looks fresh and summery, so it is OK to eat in July! :-)

ReplyDeleteI'm all for good soups...even in this crazy heat! This sounds amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Pesto mozza sandwhich equals insanely good cheesiness. That sounds perfect. Nice looking lovely green soup too, even possibly as a cold soup...like gazpacho?
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that right now!
ReplyDeleteThat grilled cheese looks incredible- and I don't eat much gluten or dairy. This is definitely one of those "well, just this once" times.
ReplyDeleteI am checking it out, I can eat soup whenever :) I had some ham and bean soup for dinner just last night.
ReplyDeleteThat sandwich looks delicious...I am going to check the soup recipe! I eat soups all summer :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're crazy to make soup! (Then again, it is currently 64F at my house in Silicon Valley. THAT is kind of crazy.) I think I would go for that sandwich, first, though--it looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally up for soup in the summer...plus I bet this would even be tasty cold! Love all the flavors you have going on. Sounds super simple.
ReplyDeletePesto mozzarella... *drool*

ReplyDeleteAn original take on the soup and grilled cheese sandwich - I love it!
ReplyDeleteEven though it's 100 degrees, sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI love a soup you can make in less than 15 minutes. And that's a fabulous looking sandwich to go with it! xx
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of green goddess soup but it sounds fantastic! The pesto mozzarella would be great as a smaller toast or open faced sandwich too, or with some tomatoes added in - yum!
ReplyDeleteWhat a heavenly combination. A tribute to summer's bounty! Am bookmarking it as I write!
ReplyDeleteThis look delicious Joanne:))
ReplyDeleteDefinitely my kind of meal Joanne!
ReplyDeleteA perfect name for a soup :)
ReplyDeleteIt is winter here so yes please to soup - but I will eat soup at any time of year - and same with sandwiches - that pesto looks amazing
ReplyDeleteThe soup looks great Joanne but since here we are facing a really hot summer I am going to stick with this beautiful sandwich and save the soup for the cold winter days ahead of us!
ReplyDeletewow mouth watering....
ReplyDeleteOh, both of these things are screaming for me to eat them for lunch today. There's nothing better in the world than pesto and grilled cheese...except maybe tomato jam. ;) I am having a very weird and unhealthy relationship with tomato jam these days.
ReplyDeleteThis is a rustic BEAUT!!! Lovely summer flavors that I'm craaaaving now =D
ReplyDeleteoh man, i just made this and it is soooooo good. it used up 3 veggies from my CSA share this week! (yay thunderstorms for cooling it down enough to make soup!)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, making soup seems loads easier than attempting to turn on the oven. That grilled cheese is mouthwatering!
ReplyDeletedid you eat that whole thing?
ReplyDeletegod I love your appetite
15 minutes to soup? Love it!!

ReplyDeleteDear Joanne, This is what I call soup and sandwich. Blessings dearest. Catherine xo
ReplyDeleteWishing this meal to be my lunch tomorrow. Both dishes look healthy, hearty, and absolutely delish. I rather want to spend 30 minutes cooking this than any take out food!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good, much wilder than my momma's grilled cheese.
ReplyDeleteAre you having any comments about your left margin cutting into the body of your posts? I'm seeing some clipping on Firefox.
They both look amazing! Heading over to see the recipes. The grilled cheese looks so good with the pesto!
ReplyDeleteI made a cold green soup this week--this warm version looks even more enticing, as well as that sandwich. Thanks for sharing with Souper Sundays. ;-)
